Then, not only can you enjoy the memorabilia, but you can ensure it is shared with others.

Participate in Civil War Reenactments

If you have never participated in Civil War reenactments, you could be missing out on a great way to help with historic preservation, while also learning a lot and having a lot of fun. You can start with smaller re-enactments, but once you get involved, you may find that you want to participate in bigger events.

Visit Museums and Historic Sites

If there are Civil War historic sites or museums near you, make a point to visit them from time to time. You can see interesting items and learn a lot, and you can provide support for preservation, too.

Make Donations

There are organizations out there that are dedicated to helping with Civil War historic preservation. If you are able to do so, consider donating either time or money — or both — to these organizations so you can help them with their cause.

Spread Awareness

There are many people who don't think about the Civil War or its history very often, but you can change this. By spreading awareness about Civil War history and preservation, you can encourage others to participate in preservation, too. Plus, you can help a lot of people learn more about your nation's history. Sharing Civil War reenactments and events on social media and telling your friends and family members about the preservation work that you have been doing are two things you can do if you would like to spread awareness.
